Projects & Research
Faculty and graduate students in Comparative Literature are known for their active involvement in organizing campus events, conferences, and lecture series, as well as for founding or playing a major role in a variety of prominent organizations and projects.
Professor Gentzler established and continues to administer the Translation Center; Professor Portuges is the founder and curator of the Massachusetts Multicultural Film Festival; Professor Jim Hicks is editor of the Massachusetts Review; in close collaboration with his Belgian colleagues, Professor Moebius coordinates theWord/Image exchange program, that has resulted in already four international conferences. Professor Moebius also launched the Poets and Poetry of New England project—initially an innovative poetry course, the project has now become part of a new DVD series.
OGSCL, the Organization of Graduate Students in Comparative Literature, often organizes lecture series, conferences, and other events that attract a wide audience.
