| We first met at the OGSCL
welcoming party. She had on a red t-shirt with a heart in the middle, blue
jeans, and a friendly smile. I remember her long black shiny hair. That I
cannot forget.
She laughs a lot because she is happy with the
world and herself. Life is simply wonderful in her eyes. She would sing and
dance in the rain while waiting for the bus. When she does this, I often
look the other way and pretend I don’t know her.
In love with the world, she parties at every chance
she gets. She is quite a drinker too. The lady can handle a couple of Long
Island Ice Teas without falling under the table.
As our friendship develops, I call her whenever I
am down; she listens, laughs and reassures me. For that, I am forever in her
debt.
Over the semesters, I am very comfortable with her,
telling her every detail and thought of my life. She is the only person of
the opposite sex to whom I open myself with little consideration to the
consequences.
Sometimes, others perceive her as "crude"
and "abrasive;" but I tell you, the
woman speaks her mind. I totally respect that!

We had to introduce
ourselves—names and interests. He embarrassed himself by jumping ahead of
another colleague’s turn. Is he always this depressed and pessimistic?
He whines for hours about having to do work,
complains about his belly being too big, and claims to be a slacker (yet he
somehow manages to get his work done). Whenever there are others around, he
keeps to himself, shy and uncomfortable with new people.
"Can we go get some food?"
is his catch phrase. If you want to find him in the evening, however, try
the music venues in the area. He knows all the bands, spends all his money
on CDs, and has his friends over singing and playing all the time.
"Who am I? Am I American? What is the Nature
of this Reality? What is the Nature of the Self?"
He’s been taking a weird spiritual philosophy class and is having doubts
all the time now.
There are a lot of "hotties" looking at
him, but he is in love with Michael C. only. He talks about censorship and
pornography, but is too embarrassed to write an article on the subject.
He believes in Love. I totally respect that! |
