The Comparative Literature Department's own,
undergraduate run, multi-lingual literary magazine, mOthertongue, is currently
gearing up for its annual spring publication. For nine years now, mOthertongue
has been successfully providing a forum for students with English as a second
language to express themselves in their native voice. mOthertongue will be
published in May and a reception and reading open to the public will accompany
its release at a date to be announced next semester. Professors and TAs are
encouraged to notify their students about this opportunity for publication.
mOthertongue is accepting submissions from all undergraduate and graduate
students from the five-college community. Poetry, short stories, prose and any
other literary medium will be accepted along with some visual art. For more
information mOthertongue can be contacted at mothertongue@email.com.
Submissions will only be accepted in hardcopy and should be delivered to
mOthertongue at mOthertongue, Department of Comparative Literature, 303 South
College, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA 01002.
