In External Relations and University Events, we have our share of fun. We're privileged to be the folks who represent UMass at community events throughout the area. It's not always as silly as the pic of our team at the Amherst Education Foundation's Trivia Bee (what we didn't accomplish in the trivia department, we made up for as the ERUE team won for best spirit!), but it's always nearly as fun.
Over the last month, ERUE has played a role in a number of community events. We've helped set-up and breakdown the Amherst BID's 6th Annual Celebrate Amherst Block Party (riding the streets of Amherst in a golf cart is a LOT of fun). We've attended (and Eric was honored at) the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual A+ Awards Dinner. We'd sponsored Family Outreach of Amherst's Warm Up the Night. And next week, I have the honor of acting as auctioneer for the Amherst Survival Center's Feed the Spirit event.
Work isn't always filled with smiles, of course. But this is serious fun and in support of our many community partners. We're proud to represent UMass Amherst and to work with organizations that do terrific work in community.
