Public Talk: Karen Montecuollo, "Careers in the Advertising Industry"

Students are invited to attend a talk with advertising executive Karen Montecuollo, Director of Brand Intelligence at J. Walter Thompson. Karen will discuss careers in advertising, the various departments in a firm and their roles, and how you can plan your journey into the industry.

Karen Montecuollo and her team help brands uncover hidden truths about consumers, cultures, and brands that drive engaging communications across a variety of media channels. She works across all brands at the agency, bringing insights to all corners of the globe through both quantitative and qualitative research aimed at turning questions into answers, data into insights, and understanding into business gains. Karen is also an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Communications department at Columbia University. Additionally, she serves as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Research in Kind, a non-profit aimed at accelerating the progress and amplifying the effectiveness of charitable organizations by partnering them with best-in-class market research companies willing to donate their expertise to further their cause.
