Please join us for an informal colloquium for graduate students and faculty. Professor Sujata Moorti will discuss the trajectory of her work. Sujata is Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies at Middlebury College.  She has published extensively on media representations of gender, sexuality and diasporic formations.

A Pioneer Valley Bread House gathering will take place on Monday, Sept. 15, at 4 to 6 p.m. Join bread lovers of all ages in building stronger communities by kneading together and sharing stories, art, and freshly baked bread. The event will take place at the Five College Women's Studies Research Center, 83 College St., South Hadley, MA. All ingredients are provided and the event is free (donations will be accepted). Prof. Carrie Rentschler of McGill University's Department of Communication will give a talk as part of the department's colloquium series this semester.  The title of her presentation is "Doing Feminism in the Network: Feminist Meme Events and the New Infrastructures of Online Response-Ability."  Her talk will take place at 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2, in W25 Machmer Hall.  More information about Prof. Rentschler's presentation is below.

Prof. Jeff Niederdeppe of Cornell University's Department of Communication will give a talk as part of the department's colloquium series this semester.  The title of his presentation is "Frames, Stories, and Images: Message Strategies to Increase Public Legislator Support for Social Policies to Reduce Obesity."  His talk will take place at 9:30-11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, in Campus Center 911-915.  More information about Prof. Niederdeppe's presentation is below.
