Center for the Study of Communication

The Center for the Study of Communication at the Department of Communication facilitates activities at the interface of "research" and "service". The Center's activities stimulate, coordinate, publicize, enchance, and otherwise extend the research/service activities of the members of the Department of Communication.

The Center provides faculty members and graduate students with a forum in which to develop their research for future publication and presentation.

In addition to supporting research activities, the Center sponsors projects that bring together academia and local communities.

The activities performed by the Center for the Study of Communication include:

  • Sponsoring lectures by outside speakers
  • Organizing colloquium by inside speakers
  • Organizing help-sessions for graduate students
  • Coordinating seminars and conferences
  • Supervising interventive projects
  • Publication of papers by the Department members
