Join the Celebration: Be a Commencement Volunteer

Share the joy of 5,000 graduating seniors with their 22,000 guests as they leave their UMass Amherst student days and launch their newly earned alumni lives. To ensure smooth sailing on their departure date — Friday, May 11 — we need you to marshal, usher, and aide in the success of this important event.

A Marshal: Organize graduates by school or college for the student processional into the stadium, escort them onto the field, and serve as field monitors.

An Aide: Greet guests as they enter the stadium, distribute programs, give directions, and direct guests to their seats.

An Usher: Help guests in the stands with seating, directions, and program information.

A Golf Cart Driver: Transport guests with mobility issues from handicapped parking area and bus stop to stadium entrance gates.

Report times on Friday, May 11:
Ushers, Aides, and Golf Cart Drivers: Report at 2:00 p.m.
Marshals: Report at 3:00 p.m.

Appreciation Lunch on Friday, May 11 from 12 to 2:00 p.m. at Berkshire Dining Commons
