Faculty attending the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony should assemble by the flagpole at the south end of McGuirk Alumni Stadium by 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. The program begins promptly by 12:30 p.m.

Rental of academic regalia is provided free of charge to faculty. To order your rental please print out this form, fill it out and mail or fax it to the U-Store, You may also arrange regalia rental by calling the U-Store at 413-545-2619, or emailing umass@bkstre.com, before Friday, May 1, 2009. You will need to supply the following information: name, height, weight, cap size, and school colors (if known). The garments may be picked up outside the U-Store between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on May 20, May 21, and May 22 and returned to the same location after Commencement. You may also purchase academic regalia through the University Store at your own expense.

Light refreshments will be provided to faculty in the Faculty Robing Room located in room 8 of the Facilities Building at the Stadium.

By participating in Commencement, you will honor your students and their families. You can help to create memories they will always value.

At Commencement 2009, you will find that we have acted on your suggestions.

You will find a greater faculty presence.

There will be faculty receiving lines at stadium entrances, projected on large video screens.

You will find a shorter ceremony.

There will be a formal faculty recessional before the students receive medals from their Deans.

You will find a proud celebration.

Faculty will adjourn to their school/college tent to receive and celebrate their graduating seniors and their families.

Academic Regalia rental will be provided free of charge.

Contact the University Store by Friday, May 1.
