Congratulations to the Class of 2004!
The wider world beckons for UMass Amherst seniors
The 4,000-plus members of the Class of 2004 at the University
of Massachusetts Amherst celebrated an outdoor commencement on Sunday,
May 23, at the campus’s Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium. If the
sky was not as bright as it might have been, there was compensation from
an eye-catching new element in the ceremony: a display of flags, each representing
one of the 34 countries outside the United States from which the Class
of 2004 can claim members.
