The Class Gift: 2003 Senior Class Challenge

This challenge is to enhance the awareness and importance of seniors’ involvement.  The Senior Gift is an important step in carving out each school’s future.  Giving back to directly benefits current and future students.  It is important know how vital each class is to maintaining resources and reputation.  Both UConn and UMass have agreed to participate in a Senior Class Challenge. The Challenge will be judged using each school’s total dollars and the participation rate of each school’s class.

Class Tree Planting

The planting of the class tree is a time-honored tradition which dates back to 1867. When walking across campus, look carefully at the base of trees. You will see stone markers engraved with the year of the class that planted that particular tree.

UMass celebrates Arbor Day Friday, April 25th with a variety of activities, including the Class Tree Planting. Join fellow classmates at 10:30 am as they plant the Class of 2003 tree at the south side of the Isenberg School of Management.

Commencement Ball

The Commencement Ball on Friday, May 23, will provide a formal setting for graduating seniors to celebrate their final days at the University. The Student Union will be transformed into a formal hall in which guests will enjoy an evening of music, dancing, gourmet food, and refreshments. Social hour will begin at 7 p.m., with music and dancing from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will also be rides around campus in a horse-drawn carriage. Tickets are $40 each and must be purchased in advance. Order tickets online, or call the Alumni Office at (413) 545-2317.
