Congratulations to the Class of 2003!

Over 4,000 students from 42 states and 28 countries received bachelor's degrees during the 133rd Commencement, Sunday, May 25, while friends and family filled Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium under cloudy, but rainless skies.

John V. Lombardi, presiding over his first Commencement as Chancellor of UMass Amherst, proclaimed it "the best day of the year," while student speaker Matt Dunphy, a theatre major, declared, "This is our beautiful, sweeping exit from one grand stage and our motivated, educated entrance onto an even grander stage: the rest of the world.”
