Class of 2000 Tree

The Class Tree is a time-honored tradition which dates back to 1867. When walking across campus, look carefully at the base of trees. You will see stone markers engraved with the year of the class that planted that particular tree.

The Class of 2000 Tree Planting was one of many plantings across campus commemorating Arbor Day, April 28, 2000. The Class of 2000 Tree, Acer triflorum, or Three-Flowered Maple, was planted at the Student Union patio.
