Class of 2000 Campaign to Raise $25,000
for W.E.B. Du Bois Library Reading Room

READING ROOM TODAY

The Reserve Reading Room in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library is heavily used by both undergraduate and graduate students. Materials checked out are most often used in this room. For the students using reserve materials, the Reading Room offers little comfort with no aesthetic charm.

With an eye to the future, the Library worked with OFI Contract Interiors to develop a new plan for the entire third floor. The first stage of the implementation is the Reading Room.

The Class of 2000 is taking the lead on this project. The Senior Class Gift will be used to purchase new furniture - the larger the gift total, the more furniture will be purchased. First items on the list are four seating areas with upholstered chairs and round tables. (See floor plan below.) Additional funds raised will be able to purchase large study tables and chairs.
