IT Across the Curriculum Request for Proposal

This project of CITI seeks to ensure that public higher education students are “IT Fluent” and that they have the skills and intellectual capabilities to thrive in our Information Technology based society. To this end, CITI plans to award $300,000 in grants in FY 2005 to support the development of information technology programs that are targeted primarily at majors/concentrations outside of computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, and management information systems. In addition, funding will be provided for projects that create deeper linkages between higher education ITAC approaches and the private sector. The K-12 Information Technology (IT) Request for Proposal

This project of CITI’s seeks to support, document and disseminate promising practices in information technology awareness and skills-development in public K-12 schools. CITI will award $300,000 in grant funds to support programs and activities that promote awareness, interest, and use of information technology by K-12 students and/or current K-12 teachers. The IT Teacher Preparation Project Request for Proposal.

Teacher preparation programs have a vital role to play in developing instructional practice and integration of information technology across all aspects of K-12 curriculum. This project will document promising practice, among Massachusetts ’ leading teacher education programs, to foster pedagogy that supports the underlying foundations and concepts that make information technology a powerful tool in any educational setting. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available in early 2005.
