Anita Anastacio

I am now based in Lusaka, Zambia, supporting five countries in east and southern Africa around program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, etc. for ChildFund.

Graduating from CIE in September 2006, my first job was as Chief of Party with CARE USA in Afghanistan.   This was for the Partnership for Advancing Girls Education in Afghanistan, a project with $24 million of funding from USAID and around $7 million from other donors.

In September 2009, I joined IRC as Senior Education Advisor at their New York HQ, overseeing a team supporting various country offices’ existing and future education programs, with a focus on countries and settings affected by conflict.

In early 2013, I moved to ChildFund International and became Director of Life Stage Programming—programs for children aged 6-14. Two years later, I took over the reins of Director for Child, Youth Development and Protection. I oversaw all technical advisors and grants management staff supporting our 25 national offices in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation for. Our programs focus on children along the life cycle from 0 - 24 years of age.

I moved to a Regional Program Manager position with ChildFund in October 2016, focusing on East and Southern Africa, especially countries such as Mozambique, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Zambia. [12/16]
