The CIE community has regular meetings called 'Dialogues' which provide a good opportunity for students to catch up with their classmates, get center updates and also listen to stimulating talks by speakers from both inside and outside the Center.

Pakistani Educator Leadership Training - Mei Lan Frame

Mei Lan Frame was the Lead Facilitator for a workshop on educational leadership for Pakistani educators pursuing Master’s degrees in education in the U.S. under the Teacher Education Master’s Scholarship Program (TEMSP), funded by USAID. This mid-program workshop was organized by World Learning and held from August 14 – 17, 2016 in Washington D.C.

Effective Education Program Design and Management in Crisis and Conflict Settings – A Training Course in Ethiopia

Ash Hartwell and the Education in Crisis and Conflict (ECCN) team at UMass led the design activity and helped implement a three-day course for USAID Foreign Service Officers and Foreign Service Nationals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.   The UMass group is part of the larger ECCN project managed by EDC.

Nyaradzai Changamire awarded AAUW Fellowship

Nyaradzai Changamire, a second year doctoral student in the College of Education’s educational policy and leadership concentration with a specialization in international education, has been awarded an international fellowship from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for 2015-16. Changamire, who is from Zimbabwe, is also the recipient of the 2014-2015 Graduate School/College of Education Fellowship and the college’s C.L. Vendien Endowed scholarship.
