Bjorn Nordtveit at Sino-Africa Seminar in Dar es Salaam

As part of his work as a guest professor with Zhejiang Normal University, Bjorn Nordtveit attended a conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in November of 2018.  He moderated one session and presented a paper at another session on Publication of Research on Sino-African cooperation: Needs, Methods, and Frameworks.

The International Seminar on Sino-Africa Educational Policy Reform and Institutional Innovation was hosted jointly by Zhejiang Normal University and the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam. The seminar focused on cooperation between China and Africa and various ways in which African institutions could learn from policies and innovations in China.

In January 2019, related to his earlier work in Tanzania, Bjorn traveled to China where he was a visiting lecturer for Master’s students at East China Normal University and Zhejiang Normal University.  He is shown above with one of the classes he worked with in East China Normal University.  The program has students from all over the world who are enrolled in what, Bjorn says, is a very demanding degree program.
