Student Professional Activity

CIE students are encouraged to apply their learning by working with education systems and educators during their studies. Many CIE students are mid-career professionals who undertake consulting or field work as part of their degree program. The articles in this section chronicle professional activities of current students including articles on presentations at professional conferences, and a new series of articles on dissertation research that is under way.

CIE @ CIES 2019 in San Francisco

CIE and the International Education program at UMass were represented by nearly 50 graduates, current students, and faculty members at the national CIES conference in San Francisco in April, 2019.  In addition there were faculty members and students from the Higher Education and other programs in the UMass Amherst College of Education at the conference.

Ezekiel BabagarioThis research study examined an interfaith education (IFE) pilot program as a tool for peacebuilding in Kaduna City in Northern Nigeria. The researcher analyzed the perceptions and experiences of students, religious education teachers and parents with the IFE pilot project that was introduced in their schools and communities.
