CIE members in Kabul gathered for dinner in late April. There are a total of nine CIE members living and working in Kabul at this point. Not all could join us because of security restrictions. Habibullah Wajdi is the manager of the World Bank's Higher Education program in Afghanistan; Barikzai heads the computer science department at Kabul Education University; Doc Coster is Chief of Party for the PACE-A community education program; Magda Ahmed works for USAID and is the education and gender specialist based in Nangahar; Darmal is a faculty member in English and Pedagogy at Baghlan University.
Missing from the picture are Julio Ramirez, the Chief of Party, and Wendy Carmen a staff member for the BESST education project, Kunduz Maksutova who teaches at the American University of Afghanistan, Homa Sabri who works for UNICEF, Sahadat Chaudhury who is with UNHabitat, and Chris Gamm who works for an NGO in Kabul.
