25th CIE Reunion
CIE's 25th Reunion - 1993 (Click on picture for large version)

On June 12-15, 2008, CIE members of all generations will gather in Amherst to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of CIE. Everyone who has been associated with the Center since its inception in fall 1968 is invited.

For Registration & Housing information click here.

The program will offer a mix of activities: opportunities for sharing the development experiences of our members, opportunities for professional growth, chances to renew friendships and professional linkages, and a time for celebration and reflection on what we have accomplished and what we hope to accomplish.

We are expecting more than 200 CIE members to participate during the weekend, including CIE faculty  – active and retired, graduates, staff, current students, and other associates. We are planning 2½ days for the program.

The idea sounds  excellent. DRE had written to me earlier and I think the momentum is now on. To start with I am committing myself to find and inform the CIE colleagues in Tanzania on the event. Let me know if there is anything else you want me do from this part of Africa. We all wish you the best coordination. Fulgence Swai [Ed.D. 2004]

Thank you for the information on our 40th anniversary reunion.  I'm looking forward to being there. Best Wishes, George Urch [Emeritus Professor]

I'll put it on my calender and I'll try to stick to it. I will also send an update of myself to the email address mentioned in your email. It's about time that I do that after graduating in 1990. I'm looking forward to the event. Sounds like fun. Keep me posted. Eugenie Ballering [M.Ed. 1990]

For a Conference Theme I'd like to suggest something along the lines of Past Successes, Future Possibilities. I'd like to see a mix of concurrent presentations of academic papers, case studies, proposals for future collaboration, ideas for discussion. Give us choices and variety.... Arlen Etling [Ed.D. 1975]

That weekend also coincides with the School of Education's celebration of 100 years of training teachers, which they will be marking with a variety of activities and festivities. So other SOE alumni will also be on campus at that time.

If you want to be on the program, do send us a title and a couple of sentences. We are putting the program together now. (April 28, 2008) See program page for details of program structure. A detailed program will be posted when it is available.
