For those driving to Amherst from the airport or other locations in the region, finding the CIE reunion should be very easy.
Coming from Interstate 91 - get off at the Route 9 exit in Northampton (Exit 19 coming from the South; coming from the North on 91, get off at Northampton and go to Route 9) and follow Route 9 through Hadley to the Center of Amherst - about 9 miles. When you reach the light in Amherst at the top of the hill (Route 116), go straight (do not turn to go towards UMass). Go about 100 yards and take the second small road on the right (you will see CIE sign) that leads to a circle in Amherst College. Go into the circle and Morris Pratt house is the on the right.
Coming from the Mass Turnpike - Get off at Interstate 91 and come north on I91 until you reach exit 19 for Northampton and Route 9. Follow the instructions above on coming from Interstate 91

Parking at CIE 40th
Parking Permits are required to park in the Amherst College lots. Permits are free and will be available at the registration desk. Please come to registration when you arrive and you will be given a permit and additional information of places where you can park.
Those staying overnight at Amherst College - When you arrive come into the circle and stop to unload luggage in front of Pratt House. However, you cannot park on the circle. After getting your permit, go back to Route 9 and turn right (East toward Belchertown) and then take the second left (Dickinson St) and then an immediate right into a parking lot. You can park there with no charge. It is about 150 yards from Pratt.
Commuters - Those not staying in Pratt but coming for conference sessions, meals and the Barbecue should go first to registration to get a parking permit and then from Route 9 turn on to Dickinson St. and into the parking lot. Then walk back toward the Center of Amherst to Valentine Hall (for meals), to the Circle in front of Pratt for the Barbecue, and to Converse Hall to attend all conference sessions. All sessions will be in Converse Hall
Registration will be in the lobby of Pratt (See map above) on Thursday (starting at 4PM) and Friday afternoon & evening (4PM onwards). Registration for Friday morning sessions will open at 8AM in Converse Hall and will be there except as mentioned above. All Conference sessions take place in Converse Hall. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGISTER. Amherst College requires us to register everyone who is using their facilities. Parking permits for Amherst College are required and can be obtained free when you register.
CIE Barbecue - Friday Night
CIE will hold a barbecue in the grass circle in front of Pratt Dormitory starting at 6PM on Friday evening. The Barbecue is included in the registration fee. There will be music and open mike entertainment during and after the Barbecue.
School of Education 100th Marathon Events
At 2:30 on Friday afternoon those attending the CIE 40th are invited to join the Marathon being held by the School of Education in the Campus Center at UMass. Parking is at the Mullins Center (UMass Lot 25 - look for someone from the School of Education who will give you a parking pass) from where it is a short walk. For those who don't know Mullins Center it is a large closed stadium down by the playing fields. Those who want a shorter walk can park in the Parking Garage for which there is a charge.
Banquet at UMass on Saturday night
The CIE celebratory banquet is being held on the 11th floor of the Campus Center at UMass beginning at 6PM on Saturday evening. Tickets are required for the banquet and can be obtained with your Registration. Parking for the banquet will be in UMass Lot 25 next to Mullins Center - the big convention hall at UMass down by the athletic fields. From there it is a short walk to the Campus Center. For those preferring not to walk you may park in the Campus Center garage attached to the Campus Center for which there is a charge.
