Waldo C. Lincoln Jr., 83, of Ware, a retired assistant
professor of the Feed Seed Fertilizer Laboratory and a member
of the Class of 1942, died April 13 in Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.
He served the University for 33 and a half years before retiring
in 1983.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Marine Corps in the
Marshall Islands and Saipan, receiving a Purple Heart and attaining
the rank of major.
He worked for the Official Associate of Seed Analysts as an associate
member, authoring numerous papers on seed germination.
He was a member and trustee of First Unitarian Church; past trustee
of the Young Men's Library Association; past president of the
Ware Camera Club; mem-ber of the International Committee of Flower
Seed Germinators, and member of the Fine Arts Council of Ware.
His wife, Helen Richason Lincoln, pre-deceased him.
He leaves a son, Chandler Lincoln III, '72, '78G, of Edgartown;
a brother, Roger Lincoln of Ware; and other family.
