Weight Watchers
A new, 13-week session of the Weight Watchers Winning
Points Program will begin on Monday, May 5. Meetings are held
at Boyden Gymnasium from noon to 12:30 p.m. each Monday the University
is open.
Potential new members are welcome to meet the WW
leader and sign up for the session on Monday, April 28. For more

People's Market founders to speak
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the
People's Market, founders Ellen Gavin and Gail Sullivan will speak
in the Student Union's Cape Cod Lounge on Friday, April 25 at
2 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and will
include refreshments from the student-run market.
Location corrected on housing law forum
A forum for area landlords and other interested
people on "Eviction Law and Procedure" scheduled for
Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. will be held at the Howard Johnson Inn,
400 Russell St. (Route 9) in Hadley, not the location listed last
week.
Guest speakers will include Robert Fields, assistant
clerk magistrate of the Housing Court, Western Division, and tentatively,
a clerk magistrate of the Eastern Hampshire District Court in
Ware. They will discuss substantive law and procedures relating
to the eviction process in court, and will answer questions from
the audience.
This event is sponsored by Commuter Services, with
support from the Amherst Community Problem Solving Partnership
and the Pioneer Valley Housing Association. For further information,

Basketball coaches featured at Weekly Sports
Luncheon
Women's basketball coach Marnie Dacko and men's
basketball coach Steve Lappas are scheduled to speak at the next
Weekly Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, April 30 at noon in 1009
Lincoln Campus Center.
The cost for the buffet lunch is $6.50. Call 5-4289

Planters still up for adoption
About two dozen planters across campus are still
available for summer cultivation as part of the annual Adopt-a-Planter
program sponsored by the Campus Beautification Committee.
Participants receive certificates for $40 of plant
material at the Annie's Garden and Gift Center on Route 116 in
North Amherst. Coupons also will be given for one bag of compost
and one bag of cedar bark mulch per planter box also available
at Annie's.
Planters must be planted by Monday, May 19.

Men needed for diabetes study
The Energy Metabolism Laboratory is currently studying
different methods of screening and diagnosing men with either
pre-diabetes or Type-2 diabetes.
Men who have or who are concerned about Type-2 diabetes
are needed to serve as subjects.
Participants will receive a free diabetes screening
with results that may be taken to a doctor; a bone density scan
and body fat analysis.

Training and Development workshop offered
Training and Development is offering the workshop,
"Organizing Ourselves and Our Work," on Tuesday, April
29, from 9 a.m. to noon, as part of the Developing Organizational
Skills to be More Effective in the Workplace Certificate Series."

Everywoman's Center Counseling Services offers
workshops
Two workshops are being offered by Everywoman's
Center Counseling Services:
"Shaking It Up and Breaking It Down: A Conversation
about Class and Classism" will be held Monday, April 28,
4-5:30 p.m. at Eliot House, Mount Holyoke College. The program
is co-sponsored by the Office of Religious Life and CAUSE at Mount
Holyoke and Resource Generation.
"So, You Want to Be a MOM?: A Workshop for
Prospective Mothers Who Identify as Lesbian/Bisexual/Queer"
will be presented Thursday, May 1, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Bangs
Community Center, Amherst. The workshop is co-sponsored by the
EWC Rape Crisis and Violence Prevention Programs and the Stonewall
Center.
The workshops are free and open to women from the
Five Colleges and the surrounding community. For information,
