Part of regional teaching workshop opened
to campus community

College of Food and Natural Resources (CFNR) and the Center For
Teaching are hosting a workshop, called "Teaching and Learning
in an Electronic Age," Sept. 26-28 for college and university
faculty and staff from the northeastern U.S. The campus community
is invited to attend the on-campus segment of the workshop Friday,
Sept. 27 from 2-5 p.m. in 137 Isenberg School of Management.
Entitled "Engaging
Students: High and Low Tech," the session will include three
presentations and a break with refreshments. From 2-2:50 p.m., Resource
Economics professor Richard Rogers and Helene Cunningham, clinical
assistant professor of Nursing, will discuss "Using a Personal
Response System to Engage Students." From 3:15-4:05 p.m., CFNR
associate dean Steve Goodwin and associate professor of Biology
Randy Phillis will present, "Questioning Students to Assess
and Engage." And from 4:05-4:55 p.m., Resource Economics professor
Bernie Morzuch will talk about "Engaging Students the Old Fashioned
Way."
