Sidonio Ferreira has been appointed associate dean of student support programs in Enrollment Services, Joseph Marshall, assistant vice chancellor for Student Affairs and dean of Enrollment Services, announced Sept. 3. Marshall also announced six other appointments in Enrollment Services.

Ferreira will be responsible for the Bilingual Collegiate Program (BCP), the Committee for the Collegiate Education of Black and other Minority Students (CCEBMS), the Native American Student Support Services Program (NASSS), and the United Asia Learning Resource Center (UALRC). He also will oversee seven cultural centers, which until recently were housed in Campus Activities.

Ferreira leaves his current position as associate director of CCEBMS, in which he has served since February 2001.

Marshall announced four associate directors: Wilma Crespo of BCP, Doris Clemmons of CCEBMS, Joyce Vincent of NASSS and Linda Olf of UALRC. Formerly assistant director of Admissions, Michelle Youngblood is now assistant director of NASSS.
Additionally, Marshall announced that Wendy Zhu has been named events coordinator for the cultural centers, reporting to Ferreira.

"This position will focus on strengthening the connections between our seven cultural centers and four student support programs," Marshall said.

Marshall indicated that he is currently working with this new team to fill other positions within the support programs.
