Watrous, Mangels named to interim posts in A&F

J acqueline Watrous and Andrew Mangels have been assigned new duties under an organizational shift announced Sept. 3 by Joyce Hatch, interim vice chancellor for Administration and Finance.

Watrous is assuming the duties of interim budget director, while continuing to direct A&F Administrative Systems. She also is taking on responsibility for Financial Cost and Analysis, said Hatch.

Employed on campus since 1984, Watrous has held a number of positions within A&F, including executive financial officer and manager of Financial Analysis and Systems. In her job, Watrous "has been a leader in the smooth integration of the human resource and financial applications of PeopleSoft on campus," said Hatch.

Watrous received her BBA and MBA through the School of Management in 1982 and 1990, respectively.

Mangels, who was appointed controller last year, is assuming interim responsibility for the Procurement Department and Bursar's Office. He holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and has a "strong background in university accounting," said Hatch.
Mangels is staying in his office on the fourth floor of Goodell. He can be reached at 5-1675 or by e-mail (amangels@admin.umass.edu). Watrous is moving to 342 Whitmore and can be reached at 5-2141 (watrous@admin.umass.edu).
