Section of Lot 62 closed; alternative space created

A  portion of Lot 62 near the Morrill greenhouses is temporarily closed, due to "unforeseen circumstances" related to construction of a new steamline from Herter Hall to Morrill Science Center, according to Bruce Thomas, landscape architect at Facilities Planning.

To accommodate Lot 62 permit holders, additional parking spaces have been created within Lot 62 adjacent to Stockbridge Road. Additionally, the existing metered lot south of Fernald Hall has been converted temporarily as an annex to Lot 62 for the exclusive use of valid Lot 62 permit holders. No meter fees will be required. Parking Services enforcement personnel will be on duty in Lot 62 weekdays from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. to assist and direct drivers.

Additional metered parking for non-permit holders is available along Infirmary Way, along the north side of Franklin Dining Hall and adjacent to the Robsham Visitors Center.
A map of these temporary parking areas is available on line at the Facilities Planning Web site (www.umass.edu/fp) under Project Information/Current Projects/Herter - ISOM - Morrill Steamline Replacement. The same information is also available online at the Parking Services Web site (www-parking.admin.umass.edu)

"Please excuse the inconvenience; your patience is requested as we complete a critical campus infrastructure project," said Thomas. "Every effort is being taken to restore Lot 62 to its original capacity as soon as possible."
