Trustee committees to meet next week

he Board of Trustees' committees on Academic and Student Affairs and Administration, Finance and Audit will meet next week in the Board Room of the President's Office on the 26th floor of One Beacon St. in Boston. The Academic and Student Affairs meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, and the Administration, Finance and Audit meeting will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.

     The Academic and Student Affairs Committee is expected to vote on several new programs, including a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering and a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the Lowell campus, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology involving the Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell and Worcester campuses.

     Other votes are scheduled on appointments to named professorships at the Amherst campus, an appointment with tenure at Lowell and a tenure award at Worcester.

     Discussion will focus on honors education.

     At the Administration, Finance and Audit meeting, committee members will consider student charges for FY2003, the operating budget for the current fiscal year, and a number of audit reports, among other things.
