Section of Stadium Drive closed to vehicle traffic

The west side of Stadium Drive has been closed to vehicle traffic for safety and budgetary reasons, according to R. Marc Fournier, assistant director for Grounds Management at Physical Plant.

Costs to repair the road, which he said was in extreme disrepair, ranged from $150,000 to $225,000 and funding for this project was not available due to budget cuts. In order to keep the road open for recreational use, fencing and bollards have been installed and major potholes have been repaired. Special collapsible bollards were installed for emergency vehicle access. For more information, contact Fournier at 5-4386.
