Faculty book display at State House is updated

he University faculty book display at the Massachusetts State Library in the State House got a face lift Dec. 4 as the decade-old installation was replaced with recent publications. Faculty Senate Research Library Council chair Robert Rothstein borrowed 14 books produced in the last four years to showcase faculty writing.
Four faculty emeriti contributed: Ronald D. Archer of Chemistry, "Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers" (2001); Dena F. Dincauze of Anthropology, "Environmental Archaeology: Principles and Practice" (2000); Gilbert Lawall of Classics, with Bruce Arnold of Mount Holyoke College and Andrew Aronson of Sidwell Friends School, "Love and Betrayal: A Catullus Reader" (2000); and Paul F. Norton of Art, "Rhode Island Stained Glass: An Historical Guide" (2001).
English professor Kirby Farrell contributed two books, "Post-Traumatic Culture: Injury and Interpretation in the Nineties (1998) and Critical Essays on Shake-speare's 'Richard II'" (1999).
Anna Nagurney, professor of Finance and Operations Management, also contributed two books: "Sustainable Transportation Networks" (2000) and, with Padma Ramanujam, '99G, and Kanwalroop Kathy Dhanda of the University of Portland, "Environmental Networks: A Framework for Economic Decision-Making and Policy Analysis" (1999).
Three other team efforts appear at the state house. Associate professor David Buchanan and professor George Cernada of Community Health Studies lent "Progress in Preventing AIDS? Dogma, Dissent and Innovation: Global Perspectives" (1998). Lecturer Robert W. Maloy and professor Irving Seidman of Education contributed "The Essential Career Guide to Becoming a Middle and High School Teacher" (1999). Library humanities bibliographer James R. Kelly and Bruce T. Sajdak of Smith College's Neilson Library, are the American editors of the Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature for 1999 (2000).
Aviva Ben-Ur, assistant professor of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies, supplied "A Ladino Legacy: The Judeo-Spanish Collection of Louis N. Levy" (2001); assistant professor of Classics Debbie Felton contributed "Haunted Greece and Rome: Ghost Stories from Classical Antiquity" (1999); and Julius Lester, professor of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies, provided "Pharaoh's Daughter: A Novel of Ancient Egypt" (2000).
