Carol Dahlquist
Carol Dahlquist, 77, of Amherst, a retired EDP entry operator in the Registrar's Office, died Oct. 1 in Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
She served the University for nearly 13 years before retiring in 1990.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Alfred H. Dahlquist; two sons, Peter B. of Warrenton, Va., and Brad A. of Longmeadow; a brother, retired Navy Capt. Charles Axell of Rocky Hill, Conn.; two sisters, Margaret Nutting of Leverett and Astrid Nelson of Hamden, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

Arnold G. Sweeney
Arnold G. Sweeney, 84, of Ware, a retired technical specialist in Physics and
Astronomy, died Sept. 28 in Park View Specialty Hospital.
He served the University for 13 years before retiring in 1984.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Sweeney; two sons, Peter of Yuba, Calif., and James of Hampton, N.H.; two daughters, Patricia Clark of Ware and Kathleen Radziunas of Wallingford, Conn.; and five grandchildren.

LeeAnne S. White
LeeAnne S. White, 36, of Danville, Ky., a former typist II in Human Resources and teaching associate in the English Department's Writing Program, died Oct. 5.
She served the University for nearly five years as a full-time employee until 1995, before entering graduate studies in the English Department. She recently was employed as the textbook manager at the Centre College bookstore in Danville.
An avid traveler, she had spent a substantial amount of time in India and Europe and had been in Morocco with a Centre College study abroad program.
She received her bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University, where she was a Spencer W. Kimball scholar.
She loved music, art, nature, and reading fiction and personal essays.
She leaves her husband, Philip W. White; her parents, Farrell M. and Sandra Smith of Cedar Crest, N.M.; her grandparents, Paul and Connie Bang of Blue Ash, Ohio; a sister, Julie Wride, of Salt Lake City, Utah; five brothers, Matthew Smith of Saipan, Mariana Islands, and Robert Smith, David Smith, Michael Smith and Jeffrey Smith, all of Albuquerque, N.M.
William McCulloch
William McCulloch, 56, of Ashfield, a retired maintenance equipment operator in Physical Plant, died Oct. 14 in Wil-liamsburg in an accidental drowning.
He served the University for 30 years before retiring in 1997. He was later employed at George Judd Goshen Stone and was a partner in the McCulloch family farm in Ashfield and Williams-burg for most of his life.
A 1964 graduate of Sanderson Academy, he was a former member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles in Buckland.
He leaves his wife, Dolores McCulloch, a cook II in the Worcester Dining Commons; his father, Philip; a son, Eric of Ashfield; a daughter, Rebecca
Hillenbrand of Williamsburg; a brother, David, a motor equipment mechanic IV in Transit Services, of Goshen; and a sister, Ann of Williams-burg; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy E. M. Rose
Dorothy E. M. Rose, 85, of South Hero, Vt., a retired head administrative clerk at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, died Oct. 7 at the home of her niece.
She served the University for 431/2 years before retiring in 1981.
Born in Amherst, she was educated in Amherst schools, a member of the Amherst Congregational Church for more than 50 years and a member of Eastern Star, Unity Chapter 66.
Her husband, Francis E. Rose, died in 1994.
She leaves five nieces, Lynne Carver, with whom she lived, Meg Mallory of
Conway, Beth Elmer of Utah, Carol Kenyon of Florida, and Susan Gann of
Kansas; four nephews, Charles Carver of Maine, and Robert Allen, George Mallory and Steven Mallory, all of Texas; her caregiver, Janice Hauschild of
Vermont; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Stephen J. Jablonski
Stephen J. Jablonski, 82, of Deerfield, N.H., a retired janitor in Physical Plant, died Oct. 11 at SunBridge Nursing Home in Exeter, N.H.
He served the University for 161/2 years before retiring in 1981.
He also served in the Army in the African-European Theater during World War II as a private first class and received a Silver Star for gallantry after rescuing a wounded comrade.
Born in Montague, he attended Turners Falls schools and was a communicant of St. Anne's Church.
A fisherman and woodworker, he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
His wife, the former Gabrielle M. Parenteau, died in 2000.
He leaves a daughter, Mary L. Spindel, with whom he resided; a brother, Theodore of Turners Falls; a sister, Blondena Barden of Winchester, N.H.; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
