Letters to the Chronicle

Butterfield residents should be accountable

It was with great sadness and anger to read about the problems with Butterfield House. It is truly amazing the kind of destructive tendencies some students have. I don't understand why they and their parents cannot be held liable for their actions rather than the taxpayers. I also cannot understand why these students who were responsible for the vandalism were moved to other housing units. It seems reasonable to expect that they abrogated their rights to live on campus as a result of these outrageous acts.

Let's hope the new arrangements will prove successful.
