Upcoming ISHA seminar calling
for applications

T he Interdisciplinary Seminar in the Humanities and Fine Arts (ISHA) board is calling for applications for the Fall 2001 semester, according to ISHA director Stephen Clingman. The theme for the term is "Ear and Eye/Sound and Sight."

"ISHA presents a venue where faculty from different disciplines and even from the different colleges come together to focus on topics of common interest, exchange ideas, renew their intellectual energy, and advance their work in a spirit of adventure and collaboration," Clingman said. "We are looking for ... a group of people who would like to explore their own particular 'take' on this topic in the company of others, to enrich each other's perspectives, and deepen their own imagination and conception of the issues."

Details about the seminars and how to apply are available on the ISHA Web site (www.umass.edu/hfa/isha). Applications are due by Friday, May 4.
