AIMS staff win Tellys for
video productions

hree staff members at Academic Instructional Media
Services earned Finalist Awards in this year's Telly competition for
outstanding non-broadcast film, video and TV programs and non-network
and cable commercials.
Produced as part of the course
support for the WGBY/UMass partnership, the winning programs are "Nutrition
For A Healthy Lifestyle: Hydration" and "Poets of New England:
Emily Dickinson Part 1."
"Nutrition For A Healthy Lifestyle: Hydration" was produced
and directed by Thomas Zimnowski, coordinator of Media Production
at AIMS, and edited by equipment technician Chris Golas. AIMS producer
and director Betty Wilda produced, directed and edited the Emily Dickinson
program.
Founded in 1980, the Telly Awards
competition received 11,033 entries in 2000. Typically between 7 percent
and 10 percent of the entries are awarded Winner honors and 14 to
18 percent are chosen as Finalists. The Telly judges represent a cross
section of highlyqualified production professionals from ad agencies,
television stations, production houses and corporate video departments
across the country.
Winners in the 2000 competition
included entries from clients such as Touchstone Pictures, DreamWorks
SKG, Miramax Films, Lexus, Warner Bros., Dick Clark Productions,Macy's,
HBO, and the Discovery Channel.
This is the second Telly Finalist
award for Wilda and Zimnowski, who were cited in 1999 for "Diving
in the Connecticut River." Wilda served as producer, director
and editor and Zimnowski was the videographer for the program. |
