Annual Employee Benefit Fair by Daniel J. Fitzgibbons, Chronicle staff  he
annual Employee Benefit Fair, jointly sponsored by the Group Insurance
Commission and the Division of Human Resources, will be held Tuesday,
April 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.Representatives of various health plans and the GIC will be on hand to answer questions employees may have about insurance. Human Resources staff will be available to assist employees with completing forms to change coverage. This year representatives of the State Board of Retirement and the UMass/Five College Federal Credit Union have also been invited to attend the event. Several banks are also expected to send representatives to explain the benefits of direct deposit. Staff from University Health Services, Faculty and Staff Employee Assistance Program and the Center for Language, Speech and Hearing will provide screenings and information about their services. Information on other benefits, such as U.S. Savings Bonds, home and auto insurance, deferred compensation and 403B plans will also be available. Employees are encouraged to attend the free event. Supervisors are asked to consider reasonable requests for release time, but all requests are granted at the discretion of the supervisor or department head. |
