Deere shares Cuban science book prize
Carmen Diana Deere, professor of Economics and director of the Center for Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies, and four Cuban sociologists were recently awarded the "Best Scientific Book" prize by the University of Havana for their work "Guines, Santo Domingo, and Majibacoa: Transformaciones Agrarias en el Siglo XX" (Agrarian Transformations in the Twentieth Century).
