Measure funds police, GEO contracts
Gov. Paul Cellucci on Dec. 28 signed budget supplements to fund extrajurisdictional pay for University Police officers and an increase in the stipends of campus teaching assistants, according to Sharon Kennaugh, associate director of State Government Relations.

Marching Band invited to inaugural parade
Come Jan. 20, the 300 members of Minuteman Marching Band will be stepping lively down Washington's Pennsylvania Avenue as part of the presidential inauguration parade.

MacCormack named Dartmouth chancellor
Jean MacCormack, who has served as interim chancellor of the Dartmouth campus since September 1999, has been recommended for permanent appointment to the post.

Interim chancellor named in Boston
With a search for a new chancellor at the Boston campus still moving ahead, President William M. Bulger last week named Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance David J. MacKenzie to serve as interim chancellor.

4 finalists named for UMB chancellor
The list of prospective candidates for chancellor of the Boston campus has been narrowed to four finalists, whose names have been forwarded by the search committee to President William M. Bulger for his review.

Arboretum logo designed by alumnus
A stylized leaf contrasted against a silhouette of campus buildings is the winning design in a competition to select a new logo for the Frank Waugh Arboretum, according to professor Jack Ahern of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, who directs the arboretum.

Contest seeks suggestions for reducing waste
The Office of Waste Management (OWM) is sponsoring a competition to gather ideas from faculty and staff for reducing the amount of waste produced on campus.
