Willis
named dean of CFNR
Cleve Willis, chair of the Department of Resource Economics, has been
named dean of the College of Food and Natural Resources (CFNR) by Provost
Cora B. Marrett. Willis' appointment was effective July 1, but required
approval by the President's Office.
Legislature
adds $23.6m to system line; Measure awaits governor's action
Eighteen days into the new fiscal year, legislators last week approved
a $21.55 billion state budget and sent the measure on to Gov. Paul Cellucci,
allowing lawmakers a sliver of time to consider overriding any possible
vetoes before the legislative session ends July 31.

Career Network swapping homes
Admissions and the Campus Career Network will be trading places next month
in a move designed to help both better fulfill their missions, according
to Joseph Marshall, assistant vice chancellor for Enrollment Services.
Trustees
slated to act on distance learning initiative, capital plan
The Board of Trustees meets Wednesday, Aug. 2, on the Worcester campus.
Its agenda includes votes on issues related to distance learning, the
capital plan, child care policy and the naming of a new building for the
Isenberg School of Management, a $12 million project scheduled to be under
construction by the end of the year.

The Isenberg School of Management is making an effort to involve its new
students in the life of the school quickly and comfortably this fall and
to enhance leadership opportunities for all of its students.
