Senate Passes $21.6B Budget;
Next Step Up to Conference Committee

A proposed $21.6 billion Fiscal 2001 state budget virtually sailed through the Senate last week, setting the stage for a six-member conference committee to resolve differences between the plan and a $21.7 billion budget package approved by the House in April.
