Organizes Lobbying Effort
The Massachusetts Society of Professors is organizing a faculty and staff
lobbying effort scheduled to run from the beginning of April through mid-May.
Jane Giacobbe, president of MSP, announced the three-day-a-week visits
to the State House at the March 23 Faculty Senate meeting.

Faculty-Development Honor
It was, in the words of Provost Cora Marrett, "the important time for
the celebration of teaching." Distinguished guests joined more than a
hundred faculty and staff March 23 at the Center For Teaching's annual
dinner to honor teaching fellows and to witness the campus receiving a
national faculty-development award.
Nagurney
Examines Role of Networks in Modern Society
Anna Nagurney, professor of Finance and Operations Management at the Isenberg
School of Management, will deliver the fourth and final presentation in
the Distinguished Faculty Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
in Memorial Hall.

Lecture on Copernicus
The world's foremost scholar of Copernicus visits campus next week to
discuss how the 16th-century Polish astronomer's book, "De revolutionibus
Orbium Coelestium," (On the Revolution of Heavenly Spheres) ignited the
greatest cosmological revolution in history.
Language
Day Programs Aimed at High School Students, Teachers
Teachers and students from more than 30 high schools across the Commonwealth
are expected to participate in Language Day programs on campus on Monday,
April 3.
