Lila Gierasch Shares Insights About Protein Folding
Lila Gierasch, head of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology, will discuss "The Unfolding Story of Protein Folding" in the
next presentation of the Distinguished Faculty Lecture Series on Wednesday,
Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
National
Park Service Law Enforcement Training Stresses Experiential Learning
One might think a program that can boast of employment at beautiful
or historic places for most of its graduates, a cast of skilled instructors,
and action-packed classes would be a high-profile offering on campus.
But the National Park Service Seasonal Law Enforcement Training Program
has rather quietly graduated more than 400 students since its inception
in 1989.

Among Top 20 Schools Providing Peace Corps Volunteers
With 47 graduates currently serving as Peace Corps volunteers, the Amherst
campus ranks 20th in the nation, according to the agency's director,
Mark L. Schneider.
