Preliminary Audition
Callback Audition
|
Those auditioning for Chamber Choir must complete a preliminary audition. The preliminary audition
will consist of scales to determine tone quality and range, pitch memory drills, and sight-reading. The sign-up sheets and audition form are located outside room 253.
Singers selected for the call-back auditions will be asked to perform a solo vocal piece and a prepared excerpt from a choral work.
The prepared excerpt for callback auditions may be downloaded from http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/sheet/viv-gloh.pdf. You are to prepare measures 9-downbeat of 53 of “Domine Fili Unigenite” (movement 7) from Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi. The accompanist will play the piano reduction as you sing your part. Tempo for the audition should be quarter-note = 120.
