General Information

From 1993 to 2002, "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" was celebrated on the Amherst campus and nationally. Since 2003, boys have been formally included in the program. The Ms. Foundation renamed the national event, “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.” At UMass Amherst, this event is called “Take Our Children to Work Day” and will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2006 (the week after public school spring break). This program will continue to educate children about the wealth of job possibilities for their future, teach them about the workplace, classrooms and facilities here at the University, and give them a glimpse of what the adults in their lives do during the day. Members of the Campus Community are invited to bring boys and girls, aged 6 to 18, to participate in this one-day event that highlights career opportunities and what the adults in their lives do during the day.

Visit the Information Fair and Breakfast Reception page for more information and the Tour, Events & Activities page for details about late morning and afternoon activities.

IMPORTANT: This year the information fair will take place at The Student Union Ballroom. A parental/guardian permission form Acrobat PDF Icon is required for all children to participate. If possible, bring the completed permission form the day of the event.
