Scholarships Available through the Chemistry Department

 

Freshman

ACS-Hach ScholarshipAwarded to up to three outstanding undergraduates anticipating a career in teaching high school chemistry. Established by Clifford and Kitty Hach. Scholarship fund to be put towards the UMASS account. Approximately $5,400 award. Interested students should apply via the following online form that requires a letter of interest (no faculty recommendation required).

Sophomores

Juniors

John A. Chandler Memorial Scholarship – Awarded to a chemistry major with a GPA of 3.0 or greater with a preference to those preparing for a career in teaching. Prof. Chandler was a member of the faculty from 1959 to 2005. Approximately $1,000 award established by the family of Prof. Chandler. Interested students should apply in their junior year via the following online form that requires a letter of interest (no faculty recommendation required).

Leader in the Making Scholarship – $2,000 toward the senior year bill. Awarded to a junior doing well academically and who has demonstrated the ability to also pursue co-curricular and community activities. Students apply directly to the Alumni Association.
