Home Cooking From Around the World

Welcome!

The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, will proudly host the 16th annual Tastes of the World Chef Culinary Conference, on June 6-11, 2010.

We will celebrate our 16th year, by inviting many top-notch presenters and welcoming back some of the best past speakers. Our theme this year: Home Cooking From Around the World; we will focus on many home recipes and comfort foods from regions of America, Latin America, the Mediterranean Region and Southeast Asia.

It is hard to beat mom's cooking; this much we know is true. How many famed chefs or great cooks got their start by learning from parents, grandparents or other family members? Home cooking is often simple to prepare, with the use of authentic, natural and local ingredients - just the thing that our customers are looking for.

As always, we will be expecting an impressive entourage of experts, as well as some of the finest members of Johnson and Wales University and The Culinary Institute of America, who will share their knowledge and oversee many workshop sessions and demonstrations. Similar to last year, there will be presentations and workshops on both Monday and Tuesday.

Please visit this site often as it will be updated weekly. Plan to register early, as many of the events are "sell outs."

Come and join us and we will help you to deliver the best flavor concepts to your customers.

To practice what we preach in sustainability, we will eliminate a hard-copy brochure and provide information online. Handouts will be available during sessions.

Sincerely,

Ken Toong
