Patricia Dailey

Patricia Dailey, a longtime participant and champion of the $600 billion foodservice industry, consults on strategic business-building topics. She has high-level experience and expertise in editorial content planning and development, marketing, strategic brand positioning, electronic messaging, consumer trends and culinary development.
She recently completed a 12-year tenure with Reed Business Information, in roles that included Editorial Director of Restaurants & Institutions and Chain Leader magazines, two of the most highly respected foodservice-industry trade magazines. Dailey joined R&I in 1997 as Managing Editor. She was named Editor in Chief in 1998 and publisher of R&I and Chain Leader in 2007.
As editor in chief, she led two major redesigns for R&I and helped launch its Web site, www.rimag.com. Under her stewardship, R&I received more than 40 journalism awards, including the 2008 and 2005 Magazine of the Year presented by the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
Dailey previously was a reporter/writer for the Chicago Tribune. In addition, she regularly appeared on CLTV's Good Eating television show. While at the Tribune, her work won first place commendations from the Institute of Food Technologists, the Association of Food Journalists and the Brock School of Agricultural Communication at California Polytechnic State University. Dailey also has worked for Machine Cuisine Inc. and for Don Roth's Blackhawk Restaurant.
Dailey is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Culinary Institute of America, the world’s most distinguished culinary school; she also serves on its Educational Policy Committee. Additionally, she is on the Women’s Foodservice Forum’s Nominating Committee; she has served two terms as a WFF board member and also was vice chair of its Marketing/Communications Committee.
She serves on the planning committee for the Society for Foodservice Management’s annual conference. She is a past member of the International Foodservice Editorial Council’s Board of Directors and of the National Society for Healthcare Foodservice Management’s Industry Advisory Council. She is a member of IFMA’s Publishers Action Committee.
Dailey has written four cookbooks and co-authored or contributed to numerous other books on food and cooking.
