Kelly Proctor has been the Head Cheerleading Coach and Spirit Group Advisor since January 2002. In her tenure as coach, UMass Cheerleading has become one of the elite collegiate squads in the country, eclipsing program records for top finishes at the Collegiate Championships as well as showcasing memorable performances at UMass Football and Basketball games.
Kelly has been involved in cheerleading her entire life. Prior to becoming coach at UMass, Kelly was a cheerleader with Boston University, Northeastern University, and the New England Patriots as well as coach at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts and at Leominster High School in Leominster, Massachusetts. Kelly is also a UCA and NCA certified instructor, choreographed many national championship routines and even appeared as the cheerleading coach in season four of MTV’s hit seriesMade.
