University of Massachusetts President Jack M. Wilson and the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees have established a search committee to conduct a national search for a new chancellor for the University's flagship Amherst campus.

The search committee is tasked with seeking, encouraging, interviewing and recommending to the President the strongest possible candidates for the position of Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The committee began meeting in the fall of 2007, is chaired by UMass Amherst graduate and trustee Jennifer Braceras and includes UMass Amherst faculty members, trustees, alumni, and business and community leaders.
