Update on The Chancellor’s Diversity Advisory Committee

Dear Campus Community,
I am pleased to share the launch of "Diversity Matters," a new web resource which articulates our commitment to diversity and equality by bringing together a wide range of related resources.
The launch of "Diversity Matters" reflects the culmination of an extensive effort by a group of dedicated colleagues. In the spring of 2010, I formed the Chancellor's Diversity Advisory Committee. The committee, consisting of members of the campus community and beyond, was charged with reviewing, formalizing and expanding our diversity efforts.
Over the months, the committee articulated a diversity mission statement, and developed a comprehensive diversity and equity plan for the campus. I would like to thank the chair, Debora Ferreira, executive director for Equal Opportunity and Development, and all members of the committee for their invaluable contributions.
"Diversity Matters" was developed as a place to bring together all of these efforts. This resource is meant to evolve and change, reflective of our own constant need to remain vigilant on matters of diversity and equality.
